I know a lot of us are feeling the financial crunch right now, feeling anxious and uncertain about the future – among them most of my fellow small biz owners / artists / creatives / freelancers / self employed folks. I am feeling it, too (but also feeling like as a group we are perhaps more used to operating without certainty, safety nets, vacation days, healthcare, PTO, and other external supports?).
I am feeling adrift in the sea of ever changing information, wanting to help, but quarantined at home (and with a lingering cough) – wanting to give, but already seeing large chunks of future income evaporating. This is one small thing I can do right now.
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank always does crucial work in providing for our community, but they are now at the epicenter. Thanks to a matching donor, right now up to $100K in donations will be doubled. My little APE MADE (Art and Apparel by April Bleakney) biz will be donating 100% online profits, which will be doubled. With this, $1 = 8 meals!
You can of course donate directly via their website: https://bit.ly/2Uw2F75
You can also sign up on to volunteer on their website: https://www.greaterclevelandfoodbank.org/
Thank you all, stay safe and healthy! Much love.
